5 best laptops - 5 best laptop brandsHow do you decide on the best laptops? We took a different approach and decided to judge by popularity. If the brand is popular it must be good. The best way to find out which are the most popular laptops is to see how many searches were done on their brands on Overture... And here's what we came up with - Dell laptops are the best brand. Some people would argue that this is not the best approach... but think about it this way: for an average consumer, what makes a laptop to be the best? I'd say, combination of these several factors: quality, features, price, warranty, customer service and look Yes, the IBM laptops may be a higher quality than Dell but they are pricier too. The Sony laptops may be the coolest looking but they are pricier. Dell's customer service may not be the best one but their warranties and prices are. And so for... How does people decide on what's the best laptop brand? They read about, they heard about, they saw it... and they decided to search for it. And so the majority decided to s-e-a-r-c-h on Dell laptops - they must've heard a lot more good things than bad things about... Here is how 20 brands grade by their search popularity as of July 2004:
